Good morning to you
At Monday’s Discussion Group we discussed HB recovery and how rail fare increases affect those on low pay and those seeking work.
In the slide pack I have included some statistics on HB overpayment recovery and write-offs. The rail fare increases relate to integrated transport policies and subsidised travel. Something that seems to be high on the agenda of regional government but less so for national, district and county councils. There are significant benefits to subsidising regional travel, which is crucial to regional economies and contributes a great deal to improving the job market. I will write a blog to post on the Visionary Network website.
Three benefit calculator companies, EntitledTo, Ferret, and Policy in Practice have asked you to provide them with copies of your 2023/24 Council Tax Scheme. This is to know how the scheme has changed or not, so they can update their calculators. To make things easier there is a simple form to do this: https://bit.ly/CTR2324. One form for all three calculators.
Do not forget there is still time to get your CTR scheme redrafted into clear and simple language and orders before the end of March will get a 20% discount. Contact malcolm@visionarynetwork.co.uk.
