R&B Discussion Group 11/9 Recruitment and Retention

Posted on 13/09/2023 by Malcolm

We are pleased to announce the successful resumption of our Monday Discussion Group, where we recently engaged in a lively and comprehensive debate on the critical topics of recruitment and retention. Our discussion spanned a variety of subjects, including the nuances of working from home, the importance of employee training, and the challenges posed by retirement.  Even the possibility of enticing retirees back into the workplace.

The matter of talent attrition due to retirement is of significant concern, as is the necessity to efficiently onboard new staff. In response to these challenges, it is noteworthy that councils are increasing their investments in staff training this year, exploring a variety of methods. Notably, in-person training sessions are making a return to the forefront of our agenda.

For further insights, our slide presentation provides a detailed examination of issues such as pay disparities, age demographics, and additional data focusing on recruitment and retention strategies. The presentation also addresses other pertinent subjects, including Housing Benefit debt recovery and the triple-lock pension mechanism.

We look forward to continuing these valuable discussions in future sessions.

We also have a WhatsApp group where you can stay connected and participate in further discussions. You can join us here: https://bit.ly/3Qjrkqe.
