About Nigel
Nigel works part-time with Visionary Network alongside his role as Head of Strategy at NEC Software Services, bringing extensive experience of local government, Revenues and Benefits, technology, product development and public-sector transformation to the team.
Nigel has spent much of his career working at the point where policy, technology and service delivery meet. At NEC, he has played a leading role in the development and growth of its Revenues and Benefits solutions, helping to transform the product through investment in browser-based technology, innovation and close collaboration with customers.
His experience extends well beyond Revenues and Benefits. The technology and product foundations he has helped develop have supported major public-sector services across central and devolved government, including work for the Insolvency Service, Department for Transport, NHS Blood and Transplant, London Tribunals, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Revenue Scotland.
Nigel has particular expertise in strategic product ownership, proposition and solution development, market development, commercial and P&L management, local government policy, stakeholder engagement, partnerships, automation and systems integration.
Throughout his career, Nigel has worked closely with local authorities, government departments, technology partners and senior decision-makers to turn operational problems into practical solutions. He brings to Visionary Network a valuable combination of detailed Revenues and Benefits knowledge, commercial experience and an understanding of how technology, including automation and AI, can support better public services.
At Visionary, Nigel contributes particularly to our strategic thinking, technology and transformation work, helping us challenge established approaches and develop practical solutions that work for councils and the people who use their services.
