Monday 23/10/23 Credit Unions

Posted on 25/10/2023 by Malcolm

This week, our Monday Revenues and Benefits Discussion Group had a great conversation about the fantastic work being done by the Bradford District Credit Union and its partners, including the Revenues and Benefits team at Bradford Council. Ian Brewer from BDCU led the discussion, and it covered a wide range of topics.

One key point that came up was how Credit Unions, like BDCU, don’t receive as much support from governments as they could. We discussed how they could play a bigger role in working with local councils. Credit Unions offer a variety of financial services and have a strong ethical approach, making them a natural fit for organizations that support vulnerable citizens. We hope this discussion will encourage councils to consider partnering with their local Credit Unions and adopting some of the ideas we talked about.

Looking ahead to next week, Paul Howarth will be leading a discussion about the latest job market figures and what those figures can tell us about potential changes to our workload. Plus, other topics. The recording for this week can be accessed through this link: https://bit.ly/VND231023.

We also have a WhatsApp group where you can stay connected and participate in further discussions. You can join us here: https://bit.ly/3Qjrkqe.

Please note that the slide pack contains additional slides covering other items of interest in the news and job adverts, which are provided in partnership with Business Smart (https://www.businesssmartsolutions.co.uk/).
