This Monday’s chat group moved a bit from our usual path! We peeked at a nifty free tool crafted by InBest, with some help from the Visionary Network.
Remember our previous talks about the need for extra public policy layers in shaping and reshaping council tax reduction schemes? We felt councils should have a tool at hand to experiment with and compare schemes before diving straight into exhaustive impact analysis and committee reports. Well, the InBest free CTR tool does just that.
Curious? You can check out a demo in the recording from Monday’s session. If it piques your interest and you’d like a closer look, just drop an email to Manu manu@inbest.ai. He’s your go-to guy for access!
We’re viewing this as a collaborative tool, so we’ll keep the conversation going in our Monday meetups to see what can be learnt and how we might tweak the tool moving forward.
Heads up: we’ll be showcasing the tool at the IRRV Conference on Thursday!
Also, we chewed over the Chancellor’s recent announcement about cranking up benefit sanctions and a proposed bump to the minimum wage. Plus, we briefly delved into the Kerslake Commission’s findings that the Local Housing Allowance (LHA) isn’t quite hitting its marks, thanks in part to rate freezes.
